Day 1: Welcome to Gangtok

Our adventure begins as we arrive at Bagdogra airport and set off for Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Nestled in the heart of the Himalayas at an elevation of 1700 meters, Gangtok offers breathtaking views of Mount Kanchenjunga, the third-highest peak in the world. Get ready to be mesmerised by the city’s scenic beauty and tranquillity.

Day 2: Exploring Gangtok

Today, we’ll take a city tour of Gangtok to delve into its rich cultural heritage. Our first stop will be at the renowned Rumtek Monastery, an important centre of Tibetan Buddhism. From there, we’ll head to Shanti View Point, where you’ll witness the magnificent vistas of Gangtok and its surroundings.

 

Next, we’ll visit the Nalanda Institute and the Golden Stupa, soaking in the spiritual ambience. The journey continues with a visit to the Dordul Chorten Stupa and Tibetology, where you’ll learn about the region’s fascinating history and culture.

 

A thrilling rope-way ride awaits us, offering a bird’s-eye view of the city’s splendour. Our next stop is the flower exhibition centre, where you’ll be amazed by the vibrant orchids and many other flower varieties. Later, we’ll pay our respects at Hanuman Tok and Ganesh Mandir before indulging in some delightful shopping on the mall road.

Day 3: Journey to Lachung

On this day, we’ll embark on an exhilarating journey to Lachung, described as the “most picturesque village of Sikkim.” The picturesque landscapes will leave you awestruck as we drive through snow-capped mountains and encounter the dazzling Bhimnala waterfall and sparkling streams.

 

In winter, the entire valley transforms into a magical wonderland, with a thick layer of snow blanketing the surroundings. Embrace the winter charm and relax amidst nature’s splendour. Along the way, we’ll savour some warm tea or coffee to refresh ourselves.

Day 4: Yumthang Valley – Nature’s Colorful Canvas!

Get ready to explore the enchanting Yumthang Valley, famously known as the “valley of flowers.” This scenic place, situated at an altitude of 11,800 feet, boasts a mesmerising display of over twenty-four species of Buransh, the state flower of Sikkim.

 

The Zero Point at Yumthang offers breathtaking views of the majestic Himalayas. Marvel at the snow-capped peaks and immerse yourself in the tranquil ambience. In the evening, you’ll have free time to relax and soak in the beauty of nature.

Day 5: Return to Gangtok

As we bid farewell to Lachung, we’ll return to Gangtok. Upon arrival, you’ll have some leisure time to explore the city’s unique charm. Enjoy some more tea or coffee during the journey to keep you energised.

Day 6: Day Trip to Tsomgo Lake

Prepare for a day of adventure as we take a trip to Tsomgo Lake, also known as Changu Lake. Situated at an altitude of 12,300 feet, this high-altitude lake is a sight to behold. The lake’s water changes colours with the seasons, ranging from sapphire blue in spring to a deep inky green as winter approaches.

 

Before reaching the lake, we’ll stop at Baba Harbhajan Singh’s temple, dedicated to the heroic ‘Hero of Nathula.’ Baba Harbhajan Singh served in the Indian Army and is fondly remembered for his valour and dedication. Enjoy some delectable momos and soup at Tsomgo Lake, making your visit even more delightful!

Day 7: En Route to Pelling

Today, we’ll journey to Pelling, a captivating hill station in West Sikkim’s hills. On our way, we’ll visit the Chardham temple, a spiritual gem with replicas of all Chardham Temples. Witness the majestic 87-foot statue of Lord Shiva at Namchi, leaving you in awe.

 

We’ll also explore the fascinating Buddha Park, featuring a grand 130-foot-high statue of Lord Buddha. The evening will be spent in Pelling, where you can take a leisurely stroll and experience the serenity of the hills.

Day 8: Exploring Pelling’s Scenic Treasures!

Today, we’ll set out to discover the scenic wonders around Pelling. Our first stop is the Rimbi Falls, a glistening cascade amidst nature’s bounty. We’ll then proceed to the Kanchenjunga Waterfall, one of Sikkim’s largest waterfalls, believed to originate high up in the glaciers of Mount Kanchenjunga.

 

Prepare to be charmed by the sacred Khecheopalri Lake, revered by Hindus and Buddhists as a wish-fulfilling lake. Our journey will lead us to the esteemed Pemayangtse Monastery, a significant religious site offering insights into Buddhism’s essence.

Day 9: Head to Darjeeling

Day 10: Sunrise at Tiger Hill and the Beauty of Darjeeling!

Our next stops include the famous Battasey Loop, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (subject to operation), and the Zoological Park, where you can spot some unique Himalayan wildlife.
